Brief Description:  Mounted wheels - worked on firewall

I had hoped to get Keith Thompson to mount the tires for us so we wouldn't pinch the tubes. He promised to do it this weekend. I had taken Thursday and Friday off so I knew that by today they would be ready. However Keith had gotten busy and hadn't done it so when we got in, I mounted one tire and Claude mounted the other. We powered everything down and carefully mated the 2 halves trying to make sure the tube was not caught. We inflated them and don't think that we have any leaks. Trent Cady showed us how to pack the wheel bearings and even let us use a special tool that did it almost automatically. We then jacked the plane back up by the engine mount and slipped the wheels on. the picture shows the fuse resting on the wheels. The saw horse is just under it so that it can't fall over on its nose when I get inside the fuse and lean forward. ..... We riveted the hinges onto the firewall after letting the hoist down and removing the engine mount. We will drill the holes in the firewall for the fuel and brake lines and the throttle and mixture control tomorrow. We also have to drill a hole in the firewall so that we can mount the nose gear. It fits on the engine mount but there needs to be a hole in the firewall for clearance.
