Brief Description:  Reinforced vert & stab tips

We did more fiberglass work today. We went to the paint store and got some 2 mil plastic to use to wrap the fiberglass in. The Saran wrap we used yesterday wrinkled too much. This seemed to work better. We had placed a layer of fiberglass yesterday over a foam rib. Today, we took the foam out and laid 2 strips of fiberglass soaked in epoxy thus sealing the end cap in place on the rt. horz stab tip and the vert stab tip. We did the first step on the left tip also. We also worked on the fitting of the wing tips. We began laying out the rudder bottom tip but I am having some trouble trying to figure out the front cutout and how to anchor the strobe light in the tip. We work on it some more tomorrow....... I had drilled the rear vert stab spar to the up elevator stop too high on the web of the stop I have only 1/4" edge distance on the upper edge. I called Van's and Gus said the stress was lateral not vertical and we could go on building. He said it would not be a problem but if we were concerned, we could add a center bolt if we are sure that we will have enough clearance with the nose of the rudder. We put the rudder in place in the hinges and there looks like there would be enough clearance but we will put the vert stab and rudder back on the plane and check clearance again before I drill the extra hole for an AN3 bolt
