Brief Description:  Nuts to nut plates-Fitting Rt wing tip

Nut plates finally finished on wing root!!!! Thank goodness, I finally have something to take a picture of instead of nut plates. .... We began our first work with fiberglass this morning! We started work on the right wing tip. Claude worked on the fiberglass flange while I zeroed the right aileron. (Image #1) Then I fashioned the cutouts in the tip so that it would fit around the aileron hinge bracket using the Dremel cutting wheel. I was really pleasantly surprised that the wheel cut so well. It did throw up a large amount of fiberglass dust so I had to get the respirator out (Image #2). We still have to adjust the gap between the aileron and tip a slight amount and then we can begin drilling the wing skin to the tip using a #40 drill and clecoing it as we go. We will do that Monday since Nell and I are going to Calloway Gardens tomorrow to have Christmas with our whole family! ...... Of course, since we are starting on something new, I had to make an order to Spruce for #6 nut plates (that word that I hate) and screws and dimple dies and countersinks. We already have our fiberglass supplies. I ordered the West System epoxy and flox etc from Spruce several weeks ago.
