Brief Description:  Installed plate nuts left wing root

We installed the remainder of the left wing root nut plates. We had minimal edge distance on the upper surface of the wing root so we had to enlarge and move the holes some. This worked out well but did take extra time. We had read that in countersenking the #8 screw holes in the relatively thin wing root where the wing walk doubler is, the hole could be enlarged if not careful. However we used our #8 screw countersink without a drill stop and had no trouble. We have finished the left wing root except for the last plate nut on the trailing edge that requires a dimpled single wing #8 plate nut that we couldn't find. I must have used them when dimpled nut plates weren't needed. Oh well! Another order to Van's. I also ordered some wire, bushings, and some more 3/8 inch aluminum tubing. As I think I said before, the first try we had at the fuel line we used up all our spare tubing. ..... I ordered grey faux leather seats and darker grey fabric from Flightline Interiors today. There is a 3-month waiting period! ..... I sent in a medium grey paint sample to Aerotronics for the panel. They are cutting our panel today and will be painting it soon! Ron said that they got our Grand Rapids EFIS in today so things are coming along up in Billings, MT where they are located.
