Brief Description: Finished closing LEFT wing/Mounted main gear legs
We finished closing the left wing today and didn't have to drill out a single rivet. I am not sure how many rivets we drove but there were a gracious plenty. It went very smoothly though! You can see from Image #2, the completely flush rivets. The shop heads also looked good. We then mounted the main gear legs as can be seen in Image #3. We will not have enough clearance to mount the wheels when they come next month until we extend the legs of the saw horse. Tomorrow we remount the pitot tube and mount the right bottom outboard skin to the wing for the 1st. time in order to cleco and ream every hole. Thank goodness for the pre-punched holes. They are however undersized so that when you ream them, everything will line up nicely. Things surely lined up well on the left wing!
