Brief Description:  Drilled/riveted strobe-Riveted pitch mounting plat

Another cool day! We are trying to finish all the work in the bay behind the baggage compartment. First we mounted the power supply plate and drilled it and riveted it in place with pop rivets. The power supply can now be mounted quickly using the plate nuts. We have still to wire it. We finished too much today to get all the pictures in so you will just have to take my word for it. We riveted the pitch servo mounting plate and then mounted the servo. In Image 1 you can see it mated to the elevator bell crank with a short push rod. We then stretched way back into the rear fuselage and mounted the shoulder harness cables because after we get the skin riveted on we will not be able to get to this area...unless I loose a lot of weight. The red arrow in Image 2 points to the cable. Having finished most in this bay, we moved forward and dimpled all the various places on the baggage floor and held it in place with clecoes so tomorrow we can install the center tunnel cover in this area. In Image (3), I have outlined the tunnel that we will cover temporarily tomorrow. In that tunnel will run the elevator push rod, the elevator trim cable, and the flap motor and rods. .... We will not rivet the floors just yet for we have to pass wiring and push rods, trim cables, etc through this area. The plans would have us go ahead and rivet the floors in and rivet the aft top skins in place but it seems too premature to me.
