Brief Description:  Finished rt. gear mount/Drilled & mounted nylon bl

Today, we drilled the rt. gear mount extension again using a template on the outside since we were not able to back-drill the forward hole. It matched nicely. We then countersunk the holes and torqued the #10 screws. We then drilled the 5 holes in the skin and base and torqued all bolts. After replacing one of the ribs removed for clearance, we declared both gear mounts complete!!! ----- While I was drilling and working on the gear mount, Claude was drilling the holes in the nylon block used to hold the distal end of the right external step. We then clamped it in place and drilled the tube "in assembly". I was worried about this since we had to use a right angle drill and a short bit that would not go all the way through the block. The block evidently acted as a drill guide and the bolt would go through the block and the step tube without problem. I was concerned that I might cant the drill and the two opposing holes not match up. I should not have worried. We still must rivet the outside flange of the step to the fuselage and drill the left step nylon block.
