Boy, was it hot! We installed the aileron stop, riveting it in place, installed the left flap, and rechecked the aileron alignment. It was a half centimeter off which we corrected by turning the push rod adjustment. Now I hope we have prevented a problem experienced by some, one heavy wing. We then began fitting the firewall recess. We were to ream all the holes, deburr, dimple and cleco in place, leaving the rivets for later so as to use the hole in the firewall to gain access to the back side of the instrument panel later. The recess would not line up exactly and some of the radii had to be straightened slightly in the vice. When we finally got everything lined up, I reamed all the holes while Claude checked to see that I was drilling in alignment. There were two areas on the side wall of the recess that were riveted after everything was lined up. I didn't know I could dimple 2 pieces of stainless steel at the same time, but I had to for the flush rivets. The dimples came out OK. Tomorrow, we have a few more areas to dimple and then we can move on to the control stick mount.
