Brief Description:  Hung right flap and added 1st part to fuselage

We rechecked the ailignment of the aileron using a new guage and found the right one to be right on. We then hung the right flap but were stumped as to where the bearing in the flap hinge went. So we went down and got Keith Thompson, A&E Mech. to check our work. He found immediately what had taken us an hour or so to figure out. He also showed us how to use Cotter Keys. With his help we were able to get the flap on correctly. While he was there he inspected our ailerons. Having hung the right flap, we then decided to put our first part on the fuselage. We put the brake line bracket on the firewall after reaming and priming and clecoing it. I then climbed in the fuse for the first time and riveted the bracket in place while Claude bucked the rivet tails on the forward side of the firewall. We had to drill out the first one, which we did without distorting the hole and then riveted the others without incident. We then began to fit the firewall recess. Next time we will reaming it and cleco it in place. We don't rivet it yet because it makes a good way to get behing the firewall to work on the insturment panel. Tomorrow we will also hang the other flap. It should go much easier since we have now found all the parts. We spent almost an hour finding parts this morning.
