We finished cutting the aileron push rods and filing to lenght. We then drilled all the holes using the drill press, riveting each with pop rivets as we went.(See pictures from yesterday) Then we reamed out the aileron bracket holes to size for AN 3 bolts. We had a time keeping the brackets in place as we drilled. We had to go to Eldredge Hardware for #4 bolts to hold them in place while we drilled. We then had a time getting even 1/4 inch drive sockets to fit in the arms of the brackets. We finally got all 4 brackets on both ailerons and torqued. So now we have all the aileron push rods completed, the bell crank completed, and all the brackets on the ailerons so next we should align the ailerons, cut spacers here and there and attach the ailerons.I turned over the keys to my little Cherokee 140 today so I don't have anything to fly until we get this rascal together!
