Proceeded with installation of engine sensors...
• Located on each exhaust an appropriate location, minimum of 2 inches from the exhaust port flange on each cylinder, to drill a #40 pilot hole. Attempted to ensure the EGT as installed will not interfere with spark plug maintenance, other things. etc. This lead to a realization that on the left side cylinders, the EGT sensors are best installed aft, but for the right side cylinders, the best clearance is obtained by installing the EGT sensors point forward. I double checked with the lower cowl to make sure there is plenty of clearance for the right side cylinders, especially the forward most sensor.
• Marked each EGT sensor location with Sharpie, and then drilled the #40 pilot hole.
• Final drilled each EGT hole in the exhaust with #30 per ALCOR instructions.
• Deburred each hole.
• Measured the circumference of each exhaust to determine the amount to trim from the EGT sensor clamp.
• Used Dremel cut off tool to trim each EGT sensor clamp.
• Deburred the edges of each EGT sensor clamp.
• Installed each EG sensor into the #30 drilled holes, wrapping the clamp around the exhaust, and tightening until the sensor clamp is flush to the exhaust.
Proceeded with the Manifold, Oil and Fuel Pressure sensors, and Oil Temp sensor.
• Identified each sensor (150 for Oil pressure, 50 for Manifold pressure, and 50 for Fuel pressure).
• Located each sensor in the 3-port mount block.
• For the Oil temperature sensor, this is located just before the oil filter and just under the oil out line from the engine to the oil cooler. I don't know yet if I have sufficient clearance to leave the oil out line in this location. This Lycoming 360-A1A has the oil out line located here, as opposed to what I guess is the more traditional location which is about 6 inches lower and between the oil filter adapter and the prop governor. I may have to move the fitting for the oil out line to the more traditional location...
