The last thing I really needed to do was disassemble, clean repack and re-install the wheel bearings before I install the engine - I am guessing it is around 350 pounds lighter minus the engine. Having done this several times before on my Cherokee, this was easy (and of course messy)
• Removed the retaining clip from each side of the wheels. • Removed the dust cover and wheel bearing from each side of the wheels. • Cleaned the wheel bearings in a parts washer, dried. • Repacked the wheel bearings with grease. • Cleaned associated dust cover parts. • Applied light grease to wheel bearing race on wheels. • Reinstalled wheel bearings and associated dust cover. • Reinstalled wheel bearing retaining clips.
