Brief Description: Call Me Crazy - Replacing the D6 with a G5
Sold the Dynon D6. I never really liked how much room it took up behind the panel, it was always a pain to remove, so replacing the internal backup battery was going to be not fun. Garmin came out with the G5, which requires less than half the distance behind the panel, is connected to the existing CAN BUS, and provides a backup ADHAR to the G3X, so just decided to go ahead replace the D6 with the G5.
The CAN BUS I will pull from the line exiting the fuse on the right side going to the GSA28 Roll Servo. The plan s to un-pin the two pins, pull the wire back to behind the back and splice into the circuit to create the two pins necessary for the G5, and then run new circuit from the G5 back to the right side of the fuse.
