Brief Description:  Rudder - Continue Build

Continued with building the new rudder… I had help today; Ken deburred and dimpled the rudder stiffeners and rudder skin. Quite a few holes to debur, front and back.
• Dimpled the rudder skin with Ken’s help. It was certainly an easier job with two people, I used the Avery Dimpler and mallet to dimple, and Ken help keep the skin out of the way, which was really needed to closer you get to the trailing edge of the rudder.
• After dimpling the skin, set the AN426 3-5 flush rivets into the dimpled holes of the rudder skin for the stiffeners, and held in place using rivet tape.
• Set up the back rivet plate, which had gotten a little rusty from several years of non-use. Cleaned it up using scotch brite pad and got a smooth surface for the rudder skin and rivets.
• Back riveted the stiffeners in place. Very glad this is back riveted and not bucked!
• Reversed the rudder skin and repeated.
• Bent the trailing edge of the rudder using the table top, and another removable top which is MDF, quite heavy, to get the trailing edge bent
• Clecoed the rudder structure to the skin in preparation for final drilling of the structure in common with the skin.
