Brief Description: Rudder - Starting the new one...
I would continue with LRU installation for Avionics, the next and final item is the TCW IBBS (Integrated Backup Battery System) which I have decided to install under the right console for serviceability. But, I have consumed all of the ¾” x ¾ “ x 1/16” L-angle which I intend to use to make mounting brackets, the brackets will be blind riveted to the floor, much like the fuel filter and fuel pump mounting brackets, and the battery itself will be bolted to the bracket using AN3 bolts into nut plates.
Since I have no L-angle, proceeding with the new rudder while I gather thoughts on the next order from A-S. The remaining stiffeners arrived from Van’s, finished trimming the stiffeners and deburring the edges.
• Clecoed the stiffeners to the inside of the rudder skin. • Final drilled the holes in common with the skin and stiffeners using #40 bit.
