Brief Description:  Rudder Assembly Part 4

We inserted the rudder spar assembly inbetween the skins and riveted the spar to the shear clips using LP4-3 blind rivets. The R-00904A and B bottom ribs were riveted together using the same blind rivets. Then we riveted the rudder horn brace in place behind the rudder horn and under the bottom ribs.

The rudder horn brace was a tight fit. I had to file the corners down a little more to get it to fit. The rudder horn brace was modified in a previous step per the plans and had to be tweaked a bit more to get it to fit just right.

Adding the rudder horn brace to the assembly really strengthens the bottom of the rudder. The rudder cables will be attached to the rudder horn later and this area needs to be strong.
