Brief Description:  Empennage Kit Inventoried

Brian and I inventoried the Empennage kit parts using the packing lists supplied by Van's. There were two lists, one for all the parts and bags of hardware, and a second list of the contents of each of the bags of hardware.

All the parts were accounted for. We made sure all the bags of hardware were accounted for, then I went back later and checked the contents of the bags. The only thing I didn't count were the rivets. The rivets were packaged by weight and I figured this was being done by machine. The rivet quantities all looked correct for the weight that was specified on the packing list.

I organized the larger parts on my parts shelves by sub-component. Skins on the bottom shelf, Horizontal stabilizer and elevator parts on the next shelf up. Vertical stabilizer and rudder parts on the shelf above that. Then on the top shelf were some of the fuselage parts that are supplied with the empennage kit.

I didn't count them, but there are a lot of parts. It makes me wonder what the Wing and Fuselage kits are going to look like!
