The close-out originally supplied by Vans did not entirely cover the cutout in the bottom cowling, image 1. I contacted Vans and was told I was not the first one to point out this problem. The scribe line on the bottom cowling was too big for the aluminum close-out plate. Vans shipped me a piece of aluminum plate and I fabricated a new close-out panel using my CNC router. The old and new are shown in image 2. The other side of the new plate with nutplates installed is shown in image 3
