Several months ago I completed the first modification of the brake/rudder pedal assembly by installing relief springs on the master cylinders in order to lessen the possibility of sticky/locked brakes.
Today I elected to move forward with the second modification. This required removing the brake/rudder pedal assembly from the aircraft, partially disassembling it & then re-assembly with the upgraded single AN3-57 bolt per pedal in-lieu of the stock AN3-6 & AN3-7 bolt per pedal. The single bolt approach better distributes the load being applied to the pedals.
These safety upgrades have been highly recommended by several RV builders & will hopefully lessen any risk of failure from what is otherwise, a beautifully engineered design.
Special thanks to Karl A., Mark A, Shand B. & several Facebook groupies for their input.
Modification number three will be to install a Beringer parking brake valve & associated hardware. Once done, this will complete my the brake system upgrades.
