I had previously rough trimmed the windscreen by using my doe grinder with the 2 inch cutoff wheel supplied in the kit. Once that was complete I placed the windscreen on the fuse and marked where there was interference that required more trimming. The block of wood is there to hold the windscreen in the exact location on the forward fuse called out in the plans. Then it was a matter of sanding the edges until I got the fit I wanted.
