Brief Description: Fab'ing the control column mounts
Fab'd the control column mounts. Drilled the initial mount bolt hole and then moved on to cutting out a large notch in each mount. For the first one, I resorted to my fireewall pass-through technique of drilling a lot of holes along the trim line and then "connecting the dots" with the band saw. I went in this direction due to my band saw's inability to handle the thick material. Then the band saw blade broke which ended up being a blessing in disguise. I had a spare and quickly replaced the broken one. I started up the saw and it cut the aluminum like butter. The problem turned out to simply be a worn blade. Now that I had a capable band saw again, the drill method was 86'd and I made short work of cutting out the notches. Both mounts were then deburred and smoothed up.
