Brief Description: Canopy Hinge Conniptions continued
New metal has arrived. Am still quite puzzled how to make it all accurate, I don't see how to reference one hinge to the other and ensure they both work in the same plane.
I space the hinges apart to fit the canopy hardpoints with a hardwood plank and clamp the brackets to F-28. They seem to work as a pair nicely, but the brackets don't fit cleanly to the F-28/fuselage top. I grind a rounded face and they fit nicely.
I cut fairly minimalist slots in the fuselage top drip rail to achieve what looks like a reasonable angle.
Started drilling out F-28 and fitting the brackets. the MS26794-S64 screws called out are too long. S60 and S59 fit better, and AN3-10 for the inboard positions. Spend some time investigating if I have left something out, but despite me fitting the doubler on F-28 when originally installed rather than now I can't see any deficiency.
