Finished the old MGS L285 resin, back to batch 9 4003.
Having decided to use the plans shoulder rests and seat belt mounts again fished out previously cut foam and trimmed to fit. Inserted 1/4" hoop pine marine ply hardpoints into the 3/8" H45 and joined up all bits with 5 min epoxy using the tape method.
Made a 90 degree jiggy thingie, inserted shoulder rest and 1 x BID over the inside. I will not do the dumb 'don't wet out the overhang' thing which worked so badly when assembling the nose. I intend trimming the angles flange flush and meeting the outside plies with a flox corner. I used COLAN BID, and it is hopeless for small jobs, unravells mercilessly at the edges, and doesn't wet out, cut cleanly or go around bends well. I will use it judiciously for flat layups only in future.
