Removed clamps, axle didn't fall off. After a bit also notice the jig doesn't fall off, indeed won't come off at all! Vigorous efforts with a hammer and chisel get them off and reveal the horror beneath! Flox everywhere! Backing Plate had slipped down and aft and bubbled the BID pad beneath. Tried drilling the worst placed hole, and it was right on the edge and unacceptable. Popped off the backing plate, sanded off the inboard BID pad up to the TE. Cleaned up the flox.
Hoping for a better result re-applied 3 x BID to inboard of strut and clamped the backing board in place over the top.
Re-reading instructions indicate I perhaps should have removed the jig after placing the clamps. Hmm. Don't know about that.
