Yesterday I took the lower engine cowl to Richard for its interior paint, he thinks he'll use the same light grey primer as used on the exterior of the airframe as it is very tough and has a quite good finish off the gun so hopefully 2 light coats will be all it needs. Today I test fitted the exhaust pipe just to ensure I have all the required parts, so far so good. I also made a test piece of fibreglass today as I'm going to attempt to extend the upper cowl trailing edge myself. I purchased some epoxy resin & a roll of 40mm wide, 6oz cloth tape and the first trial pictured here has 8 layers of cloth hoping to build to the required 1.3mm thickness. It's laid on a piece of aluminium and I used bees wax as a release agent, we'll see how that goes!
