Unlike my previous method of marking the positions for drilling the windscreen bow mounting screw holes using a card template, this time I have produced aluminium spacers that will help align the bow for drilling. The spacers are a very good fit over the rivnuts so with them held in place on the fuselage stringers with Vasoline (also as a release agent), I applied some J-B Weld to the bow that would glue the spacers to the bow. With a 3mm screw taped to the top as a spacer, I then closed the canopy and taped everything so nothing could move. After 24 hours curing, I made fillets of J-B Weld around the plates. I'll be able to use a drill guide when the time comes to drill the holes square to the mounting surfaces.
