Brief Description: fuel tank fiddling, left wingtip planning, cleanup
This was a relatively short day, after the excessively long day yesterday. Spent some time cleaning up the hangar, which was left in disarray last night. did some re-positioning of the fuel tank to get it supported with less clutter so I can plan the final structural supports and also plan the fuel line routing and shut-off valve placement. I had been thinking I might put the shutoff valve on the back of the instrument panel, but it is now clear that would be too high and require excessive plumbing back to the panel and then forward. So I need to pick a location closer to the tank but within reach of the pilot. May have to add a small panel just for that. Also did some planning for the completion of the left wingtip. discovered some needed trimming and rivet hole drilling needed on the leading edge, at least one rivet hole missing on the trailing edge. Did some planning for the installation of the support extension for the fiberglass tip as well. At home in the evening did some research and placed an order for tubing to make rev 4 of the engine mount, aluminum angle for the fuel tank supports, and some hose and fittings for the fuel line. Watched some youtube videos on how to attach hose end fittings on braided stainless steel fuel hose.
