Brief Description: horizonal stabilizer skinned and drilled
This was a really good day. I completed the fitting of the skins to the horizontal stabilizer, clecoing them in place with silver clecoes. I then removed the skins, placed the internal spar/ribs subassembly on the tail cone stringers, and drilled their mounting holes as described in the manual. I then put the skins back on the skeleton, and transferred the drilled mounting holes onto the skin, according to the manual's admonishment to "don't loose track of the location of these holes." Next steps will include mounting the elevators to the horizontal stabilizer, up-drilliing all rivet holes from #40 to #30, deburring and final riveting. I also need to fabricate the stabilizer tip ribs, elevator tip ribs, elevator counterweight ribs and fitting of fiberglass tips over the counterweight rib.
