this was a pretty busy morning. My daughter came out to the hangar to help, and we just barely managed to get the full 3 plies on the cowl lay-up within the 90-minute working time of the epoxy and hardener we were using. When it comes time to do the bottom cowl I will have to get some of the longest-work-time hardener. This time we used the newest, mid-time hardener, and I did like the low-viscosity aspect of it. but the working time was just barely enough. We did get all three plies of the fiberglass cloth on, but when we tried to lay on the peel ply, it was only about 50 to 60% adhered, because the epoxy was at the end of its working life. But we both felt sure it went very well. I can hardly wait to get out there tomorrow and see what the new cowl looks like. We were so busy I forgot to get any pictures, I will try to take some pictures tomorrow before I move anything, and add those photos to this log entry.
