My airplane has always had a heavy left wing that took almost full trim travel to trim out. last year I bought a 3-D printed trim wedge ( from rvplasticparts.com) designed to attach to the bottom of the light-side aileron and this weekend I finally got around to trying it out. I wanted to finalize it before the airplane goes into paint this fall.
I wasn't sure what length was needed to trim out the control pressure so I duct taped it on to the bottom of the right hand aileron for a test flight which would make it easy to remove in case it needed to be trimmed down in length. For the test flight I centered the aileron trim and I found that it flew straight with hands off at cruise speed so it was perfect.
After landing I removed the wedge and duct tape and reinstalled the wedge using 3-M foam tape.
