I think that the Vertical Stab is ready to send to the painters (Actually I need to complete the fairing attachment to the empennage, but I'm done with the finish work on this one. In the end I decided against filling all of the rivet lines, I took a closer look at the parts that were buggin me. There were a couple of places where the bucking bar slipped and put an 'outie' in the skins. Those were fixed with a hammer and the dull end of a 1/4" socket extension ! Most of the other 'problem areas were due to inexperience with the dimpling using the "C" frame, where I left some 'smiles' where I wasn't holding the skin perfectly flat. My concern was only filling a couple of rivets in a line and how that would stand out when painted as a 'smooth' section in the middlel of a rivet line. In the end I sanded those 'scars' , marked their outline with a fine point Sharpie , and then filled them with Evercoat Metal glaze, being careful to avoid the rivet head itself. Then I sanded/blended them w/ 100 grit followed by 220 grit. I think it's going to look great. It presereved the rivet lines and covers-up the blemishes.
