Finished off the console today. Match drilled the attach holes to the fwd fuse rib cap. Then cut out the map case door from .062 and riveted on the hinge. since the top of the console is curved, it required 2 pieces of 1/8 alum offset on a joggle to get the hing high enough and in far enough to clear the edge of the console. I flush riveted the inge to one of the 1/8" pieces and then flush riveted that assembly to the other 1/8" piece on a joggle, then drilled both for a #8 screw and then match drilled to the side of the console. Countersunk the console side. primed the whole shebang and installed it. I then used bondo to build up all of the sides so that the cover sits flush with the finished edges. I wrapped the cover in saran wrap, which the bondo won't adhere to and then lathered on the goop. took several layers to get it built up and the pits' filled. I'm done with this for the time being, until I install the avionics/electric and prep for final paint.
