Brief Description:  Wing root and wiring.

Routed wires, antenna cables, and pitot tubing up the doorposts and into the cockpit. Installed wing root covers and wiring conduit strips with sheet metal screws. Painted vent tubes and vents where they show.

Trimmed and connected Nav lights at wing roots. Tested OK. Rerouted and reconnected the strobe light wiring. Tested OK. Tightened fuel tank piping connections in wing roots.

Inspected cabin top metal, added holes on right side for fairing strip screws. Back drilled one of the missing holes on the left side, made a note to match other hole to old holes in fairing at the time of installation.

This completes the work necessary before the windshield is reinstalled.

Became concerned that the Com antenna that had been installed in the top of the cabin roof was going to interfere with the new headliner. Researched the DVD and studied the existing holes in our parts that, according to the DVD, are there to support the headliner. Determined that the antenna, as installed, will definitely interfere with the headliner. Determined that one of the support rods that came with the airplane is incorrect material and length. Determined that the set of clips just aft of the skylights are missing. Determined that one of the two longitudinally running channels on the overhead is installed reversed. All of these problems can be fairly easily corrected, with some time and patience. The antenna, however, has to be moved to a different location. Fortunately, there is a previously plugged hole in the skin that can be re-opened and used for the ELT antenna. Then the Com antenna can be moved to the previous ELT antenna location. The extra hole will have to be covered.
