The tops of the tanks are complete, but now I need to finish the bottom of the tanks. The fuel sump drain valves needed to be installed. These are very pretty valves, but I wonder how easy they are going to be to check. My buddy Tom replaced them with the typical “T” valve drains, and I fear I may end up doing the same. For now, I will use these.
The fuel supply elbows (blue) needed to be installed next, but prior to their installation, a metal screen cylinder must be installed to stop any big debris particles from entering into the fuel supply system. The elbows actually thread into these screen filters.
Once this is complete, the tanks are ready for “installation” onto the saddles, but as I mentioned before, I’m only mock fitting the installation because I need to install the tail, the transmission, and likely the bubble first.
