Brief Description:  Valve Cover and Shroud Installation Preparation

Now that the valve covers are complete, I can do the final preparation for the side shroud pieces and the replacement of the vale covers.

The first thing to do was to finish all the wire tying behind the panels. There was not too much, but this was my last opportunity unless I remove the side covers, which requires the removal of the valve covers too. Not fun.

I also needed to make the small hose pieces that connect the valve covers together, which is now required due to the vertical installation of the engine.

I’m also replacing the valve cover gaskets since the original ones were painted at the factory with the engine.

I also hate the look of the typical hose clamps that would be very visible between the polished valve covers, so I’m using special clamps that must be cut off if needed to be removed.

The shroud holes also needed to be sized larger and in many cases relocated a few millimeters here and there. It was a pain in the butt because of the number of holes that all needed to line up.

The removal of the original valve covers included the clean-up of all the residual oil that comes pouring out as well. The end result of all this work clearly makes it worth it.
