This was fun because my weeks of work on the bench are starting to pay off visually. I love how the carb heat box came out, and I’m really happy with the mounting system I came up with. I basically used the same aluminum tubing I used to make the control rods. I cut them to length, polished them up, and installed with adel clamps to the frame. I have two mounts on the side and one hidden in the back. It’s very secure.
The oil sump installation should have been easier than it was, but after some bending to fit, I was able to clamp it in place and eventually bolt and cotter pin it to the frame. I am missing the dipstick on the cap, so I will need to fix that later.
I also was able to finish the connection of the upper and lower baffles with stainless steel threaded rod. It’s really secure and I think looks better than safety wire that many builders use.
