Brief Description:  More Engine Shroud and Oil Cooler Dry fit

Now that the forward shroud piece is installed in front of the engine (which is sort of the back of the engine), I can install the top of the shroud that encircles the fan. This top part also includes the baffles mounted underneath that will rest on the top of the engine and mirror the bottom baffles.

This is a crazy piece because the clearance between the edges of the shroud and the fan is between 1/8” and 3/16”. I will make sure that there is no movement once the install in completed.

Now I can also figure out the placement for the oil cooler. The fan will push air through the radiator like cooler and out the back of the oil cooler hood I made. The cooler needs to be positioned so it’s not touching the aluminum according to the Safari construction manual. Once installed, it will cool oil coming from the bottom of the engine and route it back to the similar location to be circulated.

As you can see, the sides of the shrouds are not yet installed due to all of the work that needs to be completed on the engine, including the replacement of the valve covers.
