This is a part I’ve been waiting to start because I knew that it was going to be an interesting construction and fabrication. I needed to also figure out how to make an internal flap and bearing system. I’ve seen it done well, and I’ve seen it done badly online.
This is a part that will eventually mounted to the frame of the helicopter with fresh air intake, and an intake that will draw heated air from the exhaust system for carb heat. The last 3” connection will go directly to the carburetor. I haven’t figured out the mounting system, but that will be for later.
Between the two pieces I made is the air filter compartment. The filter wont be installed until the helicopter is ready to fly.
I also need to find an air intake screen that fits the 3” collar. Still looking….
