Brief Description:  Fuel Tank Wiring

This project came out awesome. I was excited to get this wiring completed because there has been wiring hanging over the side of the helicopter for a really long time, and this would be a big step towards the wiring conclusion.

This took careful measurements and planning because these were new plugs for me, they were exterior plugs with a number of seals, the tanks shared some wires between them, and other sensors also used the tank grounds.

I didn’t want any splicing to occur on the exterior of the ship if I could help it, so the splicing took place in the cabin as the wire came up the frame. As the wire exited the firewall, I was able to send each branch of the tree in it’s own specific location.

I won’t bore you with the details of the wiring but I will say that the schematics and the instructions for the probes needs to be carefully followed, and the wiring needs to be performed slowly, both from the tank side and the cabin side.

The end result is a nice waterproof plug configuration that allows the tanks to be removed for servicing the other components of the aircraft behind them.
