Brief Description:  Fuel Shut Off Lever and Navigation Lights

Cutting the hole for the fuel shut off lever takes a lot more precision than one might think. I want the hole to line up perfectly to where the lever is coming from the valve, and I wanted to use a grommet for the hole that was no bigger than required. Drilling the hole in the wrong location was going to be a bummer, so I measured the location from as many points on the frame as possible to zero in to the proper location. Mission accomplished!

Regarding the navigation lights, this was pretty fun. The port and starboard lights were obviously already installed months ago, but I left the wires just hanging out of the side of the ship.

These new lights combine a strobe into the fixture, and if you choose to, you can wire all the strobes to synchronize together; port, starboard, and tail. I chose to. It just required a common wire run to each light, per the wiring diagram. For the taillight, I ran 20 feet of wire for the power and sync, and left them coiled up for when I finally attach the tail.

Regarding the wiring, I ran all the navigation lights to one switch, and all of the strobes to another switch. There is no reason to run the navigation lights during the day, but you always want the strobes flashing, in my opinion. I used a potion of the 2nd main bus as a navigation light junction.
