Brief Description:  Misc. Prep Work

I think we both fee like we are cutting it close and running out of time to hit our schedule of starting the engine tomorrow before Tom leaves for home.

There’s an old saying about homebuilt aircraft that I heard years ago, but only now fully understand. “When you’re 90% complete, you only have 90% to go!” Oh man, is that the truth! There are just so many nickel and dime stuff to do that is really not big and sexy like installing the bubble was.

Tom and I spent hours today on a ton of little things like install control stops on the frame, which started with cleaning and chasing threads. I also had my cyclic rubbing on some sheet metal, and that took some time to correct. Then, of course, there are all the wire stand-offs that needed to be completed now that I could make the final connections on the remaining electrical items.

There was also dozens of cotter pins that needed to be installed on various bolts that were installed over the past several days, which of course requires proper torqueing and alignment for the pins. These are just a handful of items that we ran around cleaning up for hours.
