Brief Description:  Pick up Tom and Move Helicopter

Well, the plan was to have both Lynn and Tom come out from Pennsylvania to help finish some of the larger and heavier items such as the transmission and the main rotor. It was going to basically be a boy’s weekend with the likelihood that someone was going to get arrested or at least detained overnight. Unfortunately, Lynn came down with a bad cold and couldn’t make the trip. Tom prevailed and headed out alone.

I picked Tom up at SFO and it was SO great to see him. He also brought a care package of shims, and miscellaneous parts for the weekend. I brought back some additional tools from his house when I visited over Christmas.

After a quick bite to eat, we headed to the airport and picked up the trailer to go move the helicopter from the home shop to the hanger. It’s been at the house for a year and a half, and it’s going to be weird to have it gone.

The move was fairly uneventful mostly because Tom was there to walk me through the process of what works best since he’s done it so many times before with his own ship. It was really cool to have it out in public and driving down the road!
