Brief Description:  Cyclic Gust Lock

I had no idea how I was going to make a gust lock for the cyclic, and in my frustration I asked Tom what he did. He was surprised by my inquiry because he simply used the one that he received in his kit. I didn’t get one in mine.

One quick call to Delane at Safari sorted it out. Delane asked me to measure a handful of critical places for the fit, and within a few weeks she had a raw and unbent gust lock for me to work with. All I needed to do was to modify it for my kick panel, bend it for my desired cyclic position, and then either powder coat or paint it. Tom’s came painted, but he had to cold bend it to try to save the paint. I was able to heat it with a torch and make a nice bend before painting.

After reaching out to my other buddy Tommy (not Tom), he took it to his powder coating connection and about two days and $20 dollars later it was ready to install. Perfect fit!
