Brief Description: Canopy Frame and Seat Belt Access
I was able to only get a few hours a day to tinker here and there on the next projects. Work has been crazy lately, so this log is really an accumulation of several little days.
I was finally able to right-size the upper seatbelt penetrations in the headboard. I also ordered edge trim from McMasters Carr for the openings, and that should be here shortly. I then made a template for the lower penetrations, but I will need to remove the pieces to property cut them, so I marked the cutouts, and I will make the holes once I disassemble the next time. At least I know where they are going now.
I also was able to locate and drill the attachment holes for the headboard tabs. I will install nut plates on the underside of the sill panels as I disassemble for painting, as well.
The cabin frames for the doors and canopy were very rough and the the corner pieces needed a lot of work. I deburred the pieces and rails and polished them with a Scotch-bright wheel. It took a while, but they were pretty beat up.
I then removed the panels required to reinstall the canopy and prepared the ship for the reinstallation of the bubble.
I did a few more little cleanup items, but that is the summary overall.
