Brief Description: Sheetmetal Fabrication of Headboard Panel
I carefully laid out the template on the sheet of metal and cut it out by hand.
I also drilled the stops for the lower bends to avoid stress cracking at the bend and/or cut.
The top edge is covered with masking tape to avoid scratching the bubble even though the bubble still has the protective coating on both the interior and exterior.
The piece fits well and shouldn't need any additional trimming at this point. I still need to drill the holes for the attachement screws that will fasten to the nut plates once they are installed, and I also need to cut out the seatbelt slots once I figure out how much clearance I will need. I feel good about the width, but I don't want to make them too tall.
I will be using a four point harness so I will require two upper holes for each seat.
