I'm beginning the fabrication of the interior sheetmetal starting with the headboard panel. This is the critical panel because there are no standard sizes due to the unique fit of the bubble on each aircraft. Even the template cut out was much too small to be of much help. Once this piece is complete, I can remove the bubble and have full access of the frame.
I made the cardboard template in two sections. After mounting the lower section in place using clamps, I measured straight up to the bubble perpendicular to a fixed parallel line every inch and then transfered the measurements to the upper section of cardboard.
I also had to drill out the rivets on the rear firewall panel an remove it in order to access the locations of the headboard attachment points and seatbelt locations.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have time after work to cut out my first sheetmetal panel.
