Brief Description: Installed Right Inlet Floor Heater Flange & Heat M
Now that I have the left air filter installed, it’s time to work on the right inlet floor (passenger side) to install the flange for the heater hose. Before I began to work on the heater hose, I installed the two connecting rods holding the bottom curved baffles tight to the engine. As with the left side, these were not a lot of fun to get the stop nuts tightened, but it was easier than the other side (first picture). Next, I installed the heat muff on the #1 exhaust pipe. When I installed the muff, it was loose and slid up and down on the pipe so I had to disassemble the muff and enlarge the holes for the internal connecting rods so the end flanges would crimp against the exhaust pipe. Once I was sure the muff would be tight on the exhaust pipe, I reassembled the heat muff, cut a piece of flexible scat-tubing, and determined where I wanted to install the flange for the tubing. I also determined where to install a blast tube to cool the alternator.
