Brief Description: Finished plate nut drilling and riveting
Drilling for the right spar was completed yesterday. Today I deburred all the holes, applied alodine 1201 to countersunk holes and then riveted all of the plate nuts on the right spar to finish it up. No bad rivets today. I added a little epoxy while setting the rivet to the one figure eight rivet hole I somehow created yesterday. There shouldn’t be any structural issue as it is only holding the plate nut. I then dug out the parts for the tie downs (tie down extrusion, aileron brackets, and spacer stock). Scratched my head looking at the plans again and spent some time looking at other builder logs for approach and things to watch out for. The Plans are pretty thin on the sequence and steps to building now. The drawings are now the prime source of information. Looks like I need to get a tap set and order the tie down rings from Vans. I’m back in the mode of figuring out what to do.. Dave and Kevin stopped by to see what I was up to.
