Finally ready to assemble the left elevator. I put a dab of blue RTV at the aft intersection of the stiffeners attached to the elevator skin
Clecoed on the counterbalance skin and set the flush rivets inboard of the outer ribs to avoid blind rivets later. Two on top and two on the bottom.
Loosely assembled the counterbalance weight and inserted the elevator skeleton into the skin assembly
Riveted the skin assembly to the skeleton per the instructions. Blind riveted the folded edges of the elevator skin.
Bent the trim tab skin in the home made brake press. In retrospect, maybe I should have primed the inside of the skin first. We’ll see if I can manage it later.
