Brief Description: Fuel Tanks – drill out bad rivets
Not much time invested tonight. I drilled out four rivets from the last session that were standing proud of the dimple. I cleaned up the holes and pre-squeezed four -4 rivets to fill these holes.
I also got out the torque wrench and did a quick trial on the vent and return line retaining nuts for the bulkhead fittings. 50 in-lb is what I’m going to use for both of these.
Lastly, I dug out the four retaining clips that are supplied with the wing kit for securing the standard fuel pick up tubes. I think I might modify a couple of these to hold the flop tube base to prevent it from rotating when attaching the fuel lines during final assembly. I’ve seen other builders do this.
I did get my Class III medical renewed today as well.
